Let's Go Bananas!

Did you know that bananas are not only good nutrition but good haircare? The potassium, natural oils, carbohydrates and vitamins in bananas help soften the hair and protect the hair’s natural elasticity, preventing split ends and breakage. Banana Coconut Hair Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (use even less if you have fine or short hair)

  • 1 tablespoon coconut milk

  • 1 ripe banana

Directions:

In a bowl/food processor, mash the banana. Add coconut oil and milk and mix well. Apply to clean, dry hair, covering all hair right to the ends. Cover hair with plastic shower cap or Saran wrap and leave for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Shampoo and/or condition as normal.

Banana Olive Oil Hair Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon (50ml) Olive oil

  • 1 ripe banana

Directions:

In a bowl/food processor, mash the banana. Add olive oil and mix well. Apply to clean, dry hair, covering all hair right to the ends. Cover hair with plastic shower cap or Saran wrap and leave for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Shampoo and/or condition as normal.

Banana Honey Hair Mask

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup (170 g) raw, organic honey

  • 2 ripe bananas

Directions:

In a bowl/food processor, mash the bananas. Add honey and mix well. Apply to clean, dry hair, covering all hair right to the ends. Cover hair with plastic shower cap or Saran wrap and leave for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Shampoo and/or condition as normal.

Notes:

This mask can also be used as a moisturizing face mask. Mix as described above. Apply for 10-15min and rinse with lukewarm water.

Banana, Papaya, and Honey Protein Hair Mask

Ingredients:

  • 2 teaspoons raw, organic honey

  • 4-5 cubes of ripe papaya

  • 1 ripe bananas

Directions:

In a food processor/blender, puree bananas and papaya. Slowly add honey and mix well. Apply to clean, dry hair, covering all hair right to the ends. Cover hair with plastic shower cap or Saran wrap and leave for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Shampoo and/or condition as normal.

Banana, Curd, and Honey Anti-Dandruff Hair Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 teaspoons raw, organic honey

  • 4 tablespoon of fresh, unflavoured curd

  • 1 ripe bananas

Directions:

In a bowl/food processor, mash the bananas. Add honey and curd and mix until smooth. Apply to clean, dry hair, covering all hair right to the ends. Cover hair with plastic shower cap or Saran wrap and leave for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Shampoo and/or condition as normal.

Banana, Egg, and Honey Strengthening Hair Mask

Ingredients:

  • 1-2 teaspoons raw, organic honey

  • 2-4 drops essential oil (we like lavender or jasmine)

  • 1 fresh egg

  • 2 ripe bananas

Directions:

In a bowl/food processor, mash the bananas. Add egg, honey, and essential oil and mix until smooth. Apply to clean, dry hair, covering all hair right to the ends. Cover hair with plastic shower cap or Saran wrap and leave for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Shampoo and/or condition as normal.
